Protect your home and technology
The DGUV V3 test according to VDE-0100-600 is mandatory for companies, the recurring test according to VDE 0105-100 is mandatory for all households, for good reasons.
Electrical devices that we use every day, plugs that we often plug into sockets and all the cables that supply the power. All this wears out over time and thus loses protection. Of course, there are many protective mechanisms that kick in when another fails, such as the circuit breaker or the residual current device, but even these require regular inspection to ensure that they will trip when they need to.
If all the protections fail, you risk not only a fire or damage to your equipment, but also serious personal injury. Whether the insurance company will pay in such a case, if no testing can be proven, is unlikely.

How and what must be tested?
In principle, all electrical devices must be tested regularly. However, there are of course different inspection intervals. But if your electrician is not twice a year for a test in front of the door, you can assume that three tests of various eclectic devices and equipment have not been carried out.
Whether already times with you devices were examined, you recognize by a round yellow sticker, which tells you also when the next examination would be due, you see on the following picture.

Of course, you don’t have to look when which device needs to be tested, usually they are all tested on the same day and we know when to test again for you, thanks to our smart meters.
What is the cost of periodic inspection?
Of course, this is individual, depending on how many devices and equipment you have. However, for a 2-person household, such a check should take about an hour.
If you have our JES maintenance contract, the service hour costs 45€ instead of the installer hour of 59,50€ (as of 07.03.2021). The JES maintenance contract is valid for 4 years and includes the following services:

The service interval is 6 months, which means that we will visit you twice a year to check up on you.
This corresponds to a saving of over 200€ in the entire contract period!
Use our inquiry form if you are interested in a JES maintenance contract, we are looking forward to your inquiry!
Electricity accidents in Germany are becoming more frequent!
The number of electricity accidents with fatal outcomes is increasing in Germany. After a historical minimum in 2016 with 34 fatalities, the number increased by 24% in 2018. The increase in the last two years is exclusively attributable to the female gender, which was not represented at all in 2016 and with 8 fatalities in 2018.
The number of deaths in industry and commerce remains at a low level (14%). In comparison, approximately twice as many (31%) fatal electrical accidents occur in the home. „Other“ is listed as the location for more than half of all reports, suggesting that the actual numbers are higher in the industrial/commercial and household categories.
Unfortunately, we did not find statistics showing non-fatal electrical accidents, but these may be much more common than the fatal accidents.
